It is only name sake Desikar Thirumaligai. In fact it is like all other houses constructed in the last century. The fact is that this particular house has undergone a lot of changes pretty before Mutt purchased it in year 1947. The floor level is below the street level and that rain water as well as drainage water (backyard) enters freely. The upper structure is dilapidated and it can collapse at any time in future. A group of selfish people and a trespasser who was availing this house for the past 4 months are not willing to vacate hence they distorted the facts spreading the wrong rumours. Their sole aim is that this house should not slip out of their hands. As the Mutt purchased this house 63 years before they named it Desikar Thirumaligai. That is all. That has nothing to do with the residence of Desikar days six centuries before. All these years no celebration nor any function was done recollecting the memory of Desikar by local Sri Vaishnavites of Sri Rangam. The set of selfish people by their degradng acts try to tarnish the image of H.H. Jeer and also earn the wrath of Lord Sri Hayagriva. Let the Almighty prevail upon them to shed their sinister plans.
